2 year loc anniversary!

Just kidding!☺️

My 2 year loc anniversary was actually a whileeeeee back, but I have been so busy with school, it just seemed to go over my head. I was just minding my business then, I was like (DID FEBRUARY 8 PASS?!)

I haven’t had time to even style my hair, but I have noticed the growth none the less. & I guess I can say less is definitely more. Just a little spritz and black castor oil and I’m ready to go. My hair grows the most when I mess with it less. Plus, I don’t know if it’s just me but ever since I started my loc journey my scalp has become very sensitive to a lot of things I used to do to my hair. So I try to leave less tension on my lovely tresses. I also massage my scalp with black castor oil before I go to sleep. ( Make sure you wrap your hair up after oiling it because that oil on your pillow isn’t good for your face).😖

Butttttt, because I am not in my hair a lot lately, when I saw how much it has grown I was surprised because I normally just put it up into a ponytail and go. (yea I can do ponytails now !!!)

Here is a side by side comparison over just one month! I swear my hair just does whatever it wants at this point. When I pray for growth its like “girl bye”, but as soon as I stop caring it wants to touch my shoulders!😒 not complaining, but hey, when do I ever get exactly what I want out of my hair?

I also started to deep condition often. Whenever my hair is feeling a little dry, or rough to the touch I grab my favorite deep conditioner. These routine treatments are great for my locs because I use so many dyes on my hair. It makes my hair spring back to life, and it feels so soft and its more manageable. Heres a little texture shot of my hair in the process of a deep conditioning.

I am continuously learning new things about my locs every month. My hair is always changing, and sometimes things that used to work so well for me doesn’t anymore. I am learning to accept that change and be patient with it. I can’t wait until I’m on my 3rd year or even my 10th. The journey still gets better every day.

Throughout this journey, I have learned patience. I have learned to be thankful for the past, live in the now, and keep high hopes for the future. Starting my loc journey was one of the craziest things I have done, and I have never felt better. I hope to inspire and give other courage along their loc journey as well. I will share tips, stories, inspiration from time to time. Thank you for following along with me.
